ABOUT

Welcome to Love Wins, a dedicated provider of substance abuse services in Brunswick and New Hanover Counties.  We believe the chaos and pain associated with addiction and alcoholism can be arrested through a treatment approach soaked with love and compassion.  Services are available to individuals, families and loved ones, as well as community facilities.

Thank you for exploring our website and services. I am committed to bringing the very best of my clinical skills to those who are 'fighting the fight' with alcoholism or addiction.  This includes the identified substance user and all those whose lives are impacted.  Often it is difficult for the addict/alcoholic to enter into a helping relationship so I strongly encourage family members and loved ones to begin their own personal recovery.  The most challenging part of recovery is asking for help.  This disease isolates its victims, creating the delusion that our problems are somehow unique.  Substance abuse cuts us off from the world literally and figuratively.  Courage is required but the reward is a life worth living, one filled with meaningful and beautiful relationships.  I encourage you to review our services and reach out without hesitation.

Jon Clarke, M.Ed., LCAS

Hello, I'm Jon Clarke, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist.  I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Counseling.  I have held numerous roles in clinical leadership at both mental health and substance abuse facilities for over 25 years.  I had the incredible honor of owning Oak Tree Recovery Homes In Asheville, NC, a 33-bed recovery residence, treating young men in early recovery.  It opened in 2011 and was the single most powerful professional experience I have had.  It was my incredible pleasure to witness miracles within the lives of young men and their familes on a daily basis.  I proudly state our motto was "love them into early recovery."  That simple philosophy literally changed the lives of hundreds of young men, and probably saved many lives.

Lastly, and hopefully briefly, I mention I grew up in the cold of Buffalo, NY, but quickly retreated south upon high school completion.  I am in recovery myself, and know all to well first hand what alcoholism and addiction "feels like."  I owe my life to those who helped me along the way.  I am an avid sports fan, occasional golfer, and am learning the fine art of fishing ever so slowly.  I have a creative mind, and think "outside the box."  I hope and pray my message lands in a way that sheds light, inspires action, and rekindles the spirits of those in need.
